Changes we would make - Ellie Tooth

If we had the chance to create our opening sequence again with titles, we would change the titles first. Looking at real thrillers we can see that the font in ours isn't appropriate for the genre of our film. I would also move the titles towards the end of the film. This is because you are given the title of the film at the beginning of the film and it doesn't create any suspense for the audience. I would of have the fotage first with the stars names along wih who produced it then as she closed her eyes use a fade to black with the title 'On Edge' in the centre of the screen or to the left or right but it still being in the middle.

  1. I think that this opening sequence can lead well into a full length thriller film. There was a good use of mise en scene with some good close ups on critical points such as locking the door. However, one of the transitions (the ripple) was fairly unnecessary.

  2. Group member 2: I thought this has the potential to be a good thriller opening, your use of camerawork is good and in particular I thought the close up of Lydia's face as she lowers her face into the water was really nice, although it may have been better if you cut it after her face was underwater as this would lead into a fade to black more smoothly. Your titling stayed on the screen a bit too long i.e. the word 'starring' but didn't detract from the action too much. I like your use of sound, however the first sound was quite overbearing to the scene but the second song went really well with the climax of the bath tub scene. Well done
